For Grown-ups
Sof’s World is a free games website made by Sof, our school’s Digital Leader, with help from her family. It’s for children of all ages, with games that teach maths, spelling and memory skills.
Keeping children safe
- There are no accounts, no chat and no adverts.
- Children never type their name. Leaderboard nicknames are built from safe word lists, like “Sparkly Unicorn 42”.
- We do not collect names, emails, photos or locations.
- Games run in the browser and don’t link to other websites.
What we store
- On your device: the age group your child picked, their chosen nickname, best scores and the sound setting. These are kept in the browser’s local storage and are never sent to us, except as described below. Clearing your browser data removes them.
- Class pages: when your child types their class passcode, one cookie is saved on the device so the class page stays open. It holds no personal information, lasts up to 60 days, and the 🔒 Lock button removes it.
- Colouring In: pictures are coloured on the device. Saving a picture downloads it to your device and nothing is sent to us.
- On our website: when a child chooses to add a score to the leaderboard, we store the nickname, the game, the age group, the score and the time. We do not store IP addresses with scores.
We don’t use tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie is the class-page one described above. If you’d like a score removed, please get in touch.
